Description pauls 2007-01-15 21:40:19 UTC
There's been some confusion among users regarding the configuration
file when barnyard is used with sguil 0.6.0 and higher. This patch
creates a custom barnyard.conf for use ONLY with sguil 0.6.0. Users
need to be very careful about replacing the original conf file with
this one, because it removes all options except those related to sguil.

Hi, Paul!

I'm confused along with users. ;-)
What should I do with the patch you provided?

Well, it's rather silly. The master port provides a barnyard.conf file
that has the "old" settings for sguil in it. Turns out a number of people
who have installed the slave port didn't read the docs. So they're trying
to run barnyard using the old sguil settings, which generate a bunch of
errors about unknown options.

So, to alleviate the problem, I patched the conf file **in the slave port
only** to provide the correct settings in barnyard when you're using sguil.
It was my lame attempt to help people who weren't reading the docs.

I don't know. Maybe it would be better to solve the problem by adding a
pkg-message to the slave port warning them about the change in settings?

Hi Paul!

It was my fault -- I'd not understand that this file should be a new
one at files subdirectory. Now tested and will be committed soon.

Thanks!
