Description Barbara 2011-03-15 00:30:14 UTC
Update tucan to the last release.

Note:
I had to add a find+exec command in Makefile to change the mode for some files.
Those files are copied in ~/.tucan/plugins but the copied files should be writable as they could be updated when there is an update for a plugin.
During the install, those files are installed using ${COPYTREE_SHARE} but I was unable to find any other COPYTREE_* command using an appropriate *MODE in .mk files. Let me know if there is a more elegant solution, but please keep those files writable!

Fix: Patch attached with submission follows:

Hi Gustau,

I hope you're doing fine.

A couple of weeks ago you rejected a FreeBSD port upgrade submitted by
Barbara (cc:d) and stated you wanted to do your own upgrade to a newer
0.3.X release. I cannot seem to find a relevant PR, or update.

The old one: <http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/query-pr.cgi?pr=ports/155563>.

Were there any particular concerns with this PR, technical ones, known
issues, that should make us wait for 0.3.11 or 0.4?

What's your status on this?

NOTE: I am somewhat inclined to merge Barbara's submission into the port
barring any technical objections or a superseding PR on your part so
that the ports tree remains in good shape.

If you're out of time, we have several options to deal with that
situation and help you out -- all are form-free, just two lines of email
as a bug followup suffice:

- You can authorize any particular committer, or all, (where I'd be the
primary suspect) to deal with this one (and only one) update --
personally, I'd make sure the port builds, doesn't revert past fixes,
and passes trivial tests, and if possible, together with Barbara (the
submitter and thus a known interested user of the port).

- OR You can authorize other parties you trust to co-maintain the port
(this is informal and recorded in a comment in the Makefile, as in, for
instance, databases/db47)

- OR You can ask that we find another maintainer, temporarily or permanently

- OR, if you repeatedly cannot deal with PRs in time, the committers can
also override your maintainership and commit without your consent, as
suggested above.

Please respond ASAP.

Thank you, gracias y obrigado.

Best regards,
Matthias

Comment 9 Gustau Pérez 2011-06-30 15:58:56 UTC
Attached is a patch that updates the port to 0.3.10. It's beeing send
as .txt file, hope it does not get removed.

The patch also fixes a new problem related with the permissions of
the plugin files. The service.conf of the plugins already have the right
permissions, the other files need the +w flag. Thanks to Barbara for the
fix.

   Best regards,

   Gustau
