Some notes for maintainer:
#1, don't remove a portepoch.  (ever!)
#2, there are at least 4 other ports that rely on these (thrift-...) and
we should coordinate with them because it will cause dependencies to fail.

ports are py-thrift and php52-thrift.

From-To: freebsd-ports-bugs->scheidell

Let me take this now. all the *thrift* ports have been updated to 0.8.0
I will add the new ../thrift/bsd.thrift.mk file so these will be in sync,
and submit a new proposed patch for maintainer to look at.

Try this and get back to me.
(this is patch against cvs version)
compiles fine in tinderbox.
