archivers/lz4 is outdated, and superseded by archivers/liblz4 which does the same and more.

I agree with you, Yuri. archivers/lz4 is not depended upon by any port and I do believe that archivers/liblz4 is simply a newer version of archivers/lz4.

I'd propose marking archivers/lz4 DEPRECATED for a period of 30 days and then removing it.

Alexey, you're Cc'ed. What are your thoughts on this?
