switch to LVMM_DEFAULT

I've attached a patch switching to LLVM_DEFAULT, but don't have a way way to test it beyond a build.  Upstream's Travis CI config includes 6.0 so it should at least be possible to upgrade there (I know you had issues before, but it seems like it should work if they are testing.)
