Description Alan E 2002-03-06 04:30:01 UTC
The mail/faces port can use either NAS or rplay+gsm for audio support. The
mail/xfaces port, which depends on mail/faces, requires NAS.

If you install both xfaces and faces with default settings, then you get
rplay+gsm installed for faces, and xfaces goes ahead and installs NAS anyway.

This patch makes NAS the default for faces, so it and xfaces have the same
dependencies.

This seems to be not the adequate solution for this problem, cause most of
the users seems to use rplay as their audio system. At the Moment I'm
looking for an upgrade of faces to 1.7.X. Perhaps we can delete the
obsoleted xfaces port than.

However doe to lack of time I need some days to resolve this issue and test
the port.

Best regards

Lars

Dear FreeBSD-User/Maintainer/Porter ....

due to the modification of the faces (1.6.1) port and the remove of the
compface port, I begun porting faces-1.7.6. Due to the reconstruction
of our new bought house, and the move out to it, I've not to much time
and the internet connection is broken within the next week for some days,
too!

I've attached the skeleton, NOT TESTED, port of faces-1.7.6. Please
check the install deinstall procedute and all you can. Send me the
diffs, or commit the port, if it's ready. I will check it as far as I',
back ;-)

These new port misses several skripts, which possibly used by other
ports. Please check it carefully.

Many thanks and best regards

Lars
