Hereby I request that www/mozilla-devel is upgraded to install Mozilla 1.2alpha. See: http://www.mozilla.org/releases/ Release notes: http://www.mozilla.org/releases/mozilla1.2a/
Responsible Changed From-To: freebsd-ports->gnome Over to the maintainers group.
This request should be categorically denied. Requests like this are exactly the reason why the tag "-devel" should never have been applied to this port. In order to prevent requests like this in the future, this port should be named www/mozilla and the current www/mozilla port should become www/mozilla10. If Ernst want to support the alpha and beta releases, he can create his own version of www/mozilla-devel and follow all of the alpha and beta releases he wants to.

We should have three sets of ports: mozilla-vendor-stable* currently 1.0.1 For ports/developers who need bugfixes only mozilla-release* currently 1.1 For those who want the latest stable enhancement set mozilla-dev* currently 1.2a For those who want to test alpha/beta releases or get an early start on adapting their mozilla-dependant port to the upcomming release. Personally, I think mozilla-release deserves the 'mozilla' label; but I know some people think that belongs to mozilla-vendor-stable. Probably not worth arguing over... -Pat
