lang/pike74 is buggy and very difficult to adapt to freebsd 5.x branch it should be removed and we should use pike76 instead that follows mutch better FreeBSD standart than pike 7.4 I think there is no applications on CVS Tree that really use pike 7.4 so this request shouldnot harm others ports.

So pike74 should remain until a decision is made to either fix, or delete, caudium-devel (Note that www/caudium12 is at version 1.2.32, which depends on the even older pike72; www/caudium10 depends on pike70). mcl

The current=20 one depends of pike 7.6, but it is too hardly broken to be added on=20 FreeBSD ports. What should I do : - ask for removing caudium-devel ? and when it is finaly usable, then=20 create a new port ? - keep it broken for a while ? > (Note that www/caudium12 is at version 1.2.32, which depends on the > even older pike72; www/caudium10 depends on pike70). caudium12 will ever depend of pike72 (it cannot work with pike 7.4 or=20 7.6) caudium10 will also ever depend of pike70 (it cannot work with pike=20 7.2, 7.4 or 7.6) I know it is strange that a language is not compatible with himself...=20= but this is pike world ! /Xavier -- Xavier Beaudouin - Unix System Administrator & Projects Leader. If pike74 is removed, then caudium-devel should be as well. Either that, or at the very least marked IGNORE -- BROKEN will still allow it to try to build on bento, which will then fail 100%. It can always be restored later.. mcl

We can just remove : - lang/pike74 - www/caudium-devel That's ok for me :) Just don't forget to make a "thing" for portupgrade to allow old pike74=20= installation to be automagicaly upgraded to pike76 :) /Xavier -- Xavier Beaudouin - Unix System Administrator & Projects Leader.
