New version 1.4.6 of gnupg break the locale support (messages is always displayed in english). After doing make configure, in securiry/gnupg we get: $ grep G10_LOCALEDIR work/gnupg-1.4.6/g10defs.h #define G10_LOCALEDIR "c:\\lib\\gnupg\\locale" #define G10_LOCALEDIR "/locale" but it should be: #define G10_LOCALEDIR "c:\\lib\\gnupg\\locale" #define G10_LOCALEDIR "/usr/local/share/locale" The last reason of this behaviour is that datarootdir variable is missing in the config.status generated file. Fix: Add a file named patch-datarootdir.configure to the files folder, with the following content: How-To-Repeat: Do "make configure" and watch the g10defs.h file
