Maintainer of print/cups-samba, Please note that PR ports/182216 has just been submitted. If it contains a patch for an upgrade, an enhancement or a bug fix you agree on, reply to this email stating that you approve the patch and a committer will take care of it. The full text of the PR can be found at: http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/query-pr.cgi?pr=ports/182216 -- Edwin Groothuis via the GNATS Auto Assign Tool edwin@FreeBSD.org
State Changed From-To: open->feedback Awaiting maintainers feedback (via the GNATS Auto Assign Tool)
I have a copy of the file and I am currently investigating licensing issues.
Sorry for not getting to this earlier. According to upstream maintainer/developer, Windows DDK license requires keeping drivers up to date with latest version of DDK (which cups-samba currently does not support) at all times. That sounds rather strange and I was unable to verify those claims but IANAL and I didn't try very hard. I'm not sure what to do next, perhaps this port should be removed.
I think I worked around it but can't recall how. Removing the port seems logical if the distfile is no longer available or necessary. I'll see if I can unearth my correspondence on it, retrace my steps. On Tue, Jan 28, 2014 at 4:08 PM, Marcin WiÅnicki <mwisnicki@gmail.com>wrote: > Sorry for not getting to this earlier. Responsible Changed From-To: freebsd-ports-bugs->mandree I'll take it.
Paul, Marcin, any news yet? Cheers, Matthias
Nope, I've read the license and couldn't find anything resembling what is claimed by upstream but IANAL so I cannot resolve this problem. BTW. due to my mistake of using unicode sender name in my last response and brokeness of gnats, I'm no longer included in followup recipient list. When responding please make sure I'm CC'ed.
Marcin, any news?
