Update grace to 5.1.1. Dependence on print/pdflib is removed for the moment because the present pdflib port is too old and the latest pdflib has a restrictive license. STRIP make variable now works as it should (hopefully). Please close ports/20112. It was incomplete. Please commit ports/20577 beforehand if possible. Fix: Added file: patches/patch-af Removed files: files/freebsd, scripts/configure
Have you contacted the maintainer of the port? -Maxim

Hi. I received a reply from the maintainer. Could you look at his PR please? ---------- Dear FreeBSD maintainer! I'm really frustrated about the handling of the ports I maintain. = There are several people who asks me for a new grace port, and I do = all the work and testing weeks ago. Included an update of XmHTML to the latest version, and a hack to = support PDF output, cause the pdflib-3.0 isn't avaliable and PDF = graphic output is essential when generating PDF documents. The PR ports/20464 isn't still handled since 2000/08/07 so why = should I maintain this port anymore and submitt news versions? = They are superseeded before the commit takes place, 5.1.2 is out = now, but I don't make an update again, before things are cleared = up. Is there anybody out there who can look at the port? What should I = do? Hello. I saw your PR. I can speculate about some of the reasons why your PR hasn't been committed. The biggest problem I think was this (among other things). The new pdflib has a restrictive license and it's probably unacceptable to build it in unconditionally. (by the way pdflib3 port seems to be available now) It is unlikely your PR is going to be committed. How about sending a revised PR with an update to grace-5.1.2? Any comments, committers?

Ok, ok but then I expect to get a hint on this problem, however is = grace not very usable without pdf support (no working pdflatex to = compile native pdf documents)!! > (by the way pdflib3 port seems to be available now) This was not the case 6 weeks before > It is unlikely your PR is going to be committed. > How about sending a revised PR with an update to grace-5.1.2? > Any comments, committers? That's what I mean, now I have to redo nearly any of the work again = =2E.... not very motivating .... But we can talk about this if there is someone who will check/ commit my PR soon, and not after 6-8 weeks .... = I'm sure you can imagine, that there is more to do than porting for = /dev/null ;-) regards Lars -- = E-Mail: \ Lars K=F6ller (Unix Sysadmin) Lars.Koeller@Uni-Bielefeld.DE \ Computing Center lkoeller@cc.FH-Lippe.DE \ University of Bielefeld PGP-key: \ Germany http://www.pgp.net/pgpnet/www-key.html \ Tel: +49 521 106 4964 ----------- FreeBSD, what else? ---- http://www.freebsd.org -------------=

How about conditionally LIB_DEPENDS'ing on pdflib3 using .if?
State Changed From-To: open->closed Update of grace to version 5.1.2 and XmHTML to version 1.1.7
