(Details: CL-INFO::LOAD-PRIMARY-INDEX: Filesystem error with pathname #P"/usr/local/share/info/maxima-index-html.lisp". Either 1) the file does not exist, or 2) we are not allowed to access the file, or 3) the pathname points to a broken symbolic link.) File is missing. Installed from binary (i.e. pkg install). In addition wxmaxima and xmaxima fail to connect to maxima.
It is not the first time that there are issues with Maxima documentation. I will look into this as soon as possible, although however I have to admit that I have higher priorities at the moment, so it might not be very soon.
I am seening the same error message. The problem is present in maxima-5.47.0_8, but not in maxima-5.46.0_8. See also: https://sourceforge.net/p/maxima/bugs/4230/
I am sorry, but I do not have the time for dealing with this issue. I have dropped maintainership for this port, so that if anyone is willing to adopt it it is now possible. Hopefully math/wxmaxima will be able to find someone that can give it the attention it deserves.
https://def.fe.up.pt/pipermail/maxima-discuss/2011/036072.html might be of importance. Don't see anything related on wxmaxima issues. Soon I will link wxmaxima update PR to this one, so we can test with latest version.
Think I 've found a problem in math/maxima: post-install: <snip> ${INSTALL_MAN} ${WRKSRC}/doc/info/maxima-index.lisp ${STAGEDIR}${PREFIX}/${INFO_PATH} INSTALL_MAN is wrong here and mayve get wrong permissions to .list file.
Could you please apply https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/attachment.cgi?id=248360 and test wxmaxima?
Friendly ping!
It works for me. Thanks!
