The site listed in WWW was taken over by a company.
Maybe WWW should be changed to "https://savannah.nongnu.org/projects/cvs/" or "https://www.nongnu.org/cvs/". 

Is this port still useful?

    Use system's zlib.
    Add gettext-runtime to USES.
    Add LICENSE and LICENSE_FILE.
    Switch to DISTVERSION.
    Pet portfmt.

IMHO some people use this version control system (eg. OpenBSD).
