Does this make any practical sense?
mknmz's document filters are mostly obsolete at best which makes this very limited and likely by a stretch barely more practical than grep or similar application we already have in tree?
Comment 3 Daniel Engberg freebsd_committer freebsd_triage 2025-03-22 17:51:22 UTC
Also, it does not remove the fact that is deprecated.

Open this up again for further evaluation

So no one can give any kind of reasoning behind this?
Comment 6 Rene Ladan freebsd_committer freebsd_triage 2025-04-04 18:55:57 UTC
This indeed looks somewhat backwards to me, will there be any maintainership to this port apart from claiming it?

If you're asking how to use it, then for example a full-text search system for mailing lists in combination with www/mhonarc.
Site search system (CentOS Stream 8, Rock 8).

It is also used on the website of Japan's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism.
