I asked Barry Lind <blind@xythos.com>, the PostgreSQL JDBC maintainer for the PG project, what this might mean. He replied: The errors would indicate that somewhere on your system you have an older version of the postgres jdbc jar file that is being picked up at compilation time. The places to look would be the CLASSPATH environment variable, or under the java installation. And he was correct, there was a version in: /usr/local/share/java/classes Deleteing that one let the port upgrade run. -- Larry Rosenman http://www.lerctr.org/~ler Phone: +1 972-414-9812 E-Mail: ler@lerctr.org US Mail: 1905 Steamboat Springs Drive, Garland, TX 75044-6749
