There is still some confusion about the naming of the samba ports. As samba-3.x.x is in a fairly stable state it should no longer named net/samba-devel. net/samba-devel should be used for samba-3.x.x prereleases or release candidates. this would make updates to the latest available patchlevel possible, if necessary. Fix: - repocopy net/samba-devel to net/samba3 - use net/samba-devel for samba-3.x.x prereleases or release candidates - after repocopy change net/samba-libsmbclient to use the new net/samba3
Hi! I would question overall stability of Samba 3.0.x, but in general, I like the idea, especially, in the net/samba3 -> net/libsmbclient bit. So, I approve repocopy of net/samba-devel into net/samba3. After that I'll make necessary adjustments to the port itself and slave ports(in fact, for slaves only SAMBA_PORT variable should be changed - commiters, you can do it :)). Developent version, possibly should be called net/samba3-devel though to avoid the confusion with net/samba(yes, it's stable, but names should be consistent). With regards, Timur Bakeyev.
