I'm curious about the changes you propose. What slave port(s) 
do you have in mind? And what is the use of churning the 
repo for the DOCSDIR change? I agree that it's a useful 
tool, I'm just not sure why we would want to make the change 
in the absence of any planned benefit.

chinese/bind8 depends on dns/bind8 now.

It will be easier for maintainers to generate pkg-plist accordingly by
using PORTDOCS and DOCSDIR when users want to install documents in
non-default DOCSDIR, or even don't want documents at all.
