I have added a LIB_DEPENDS on wxgtk2-contrib because of the new support for SVG. It was also necessary to apply a minor patch to Makefile.in To Tony (the current maintainer): I know you're not into bioinformatics anymore, however I'm not changing maintainership of the port, since it seems that there will not be another release for a while. I can take maintainership in the future if needed.
