okay, okay you got my attention :) Sorry I keep putting this off.

I found another site that carries this library at
http://users.tkk.fi/~jolma/pub/Shape-0.04.tar.gz , but I haven't
done anything about this because it has been absorbed into CPAN
under a new name, Geo::Shapefile. I think the correct solution is
to make a new port for p5-Geo-Shapefile (Geo::Shapefile) and delete
p5-Shape.

I'm a newcomer to ports, though, so would someone second that
motion? In particular:

  - Should the old one stick around for awhile to let people switch
over? If yes...

      - Should we add that other site to it?

      - We should update the description to say, "This is
deprecated. Use p5-Geo-Shapefile."

      - Should we extend the expiration date? (Is there a policy
for this?)

  - Should I submit some text for /usr/ports/UPDATING ?

I can submit a PR for this, I just need to know what you think.

Thanks, guys

I think that we should

- add working MASTER_SITE to p5-Shape now
- get new p5-Geo-Shapefile port
- then put DEPRECATED pointing to new port to old p5-Shape port
- after two months, delete p5-Shape

What do you think? Should I add the new site with Shape-0.04.tar.gz to
the port? Will you do a p5-Geo-Shapefile port?

What luck - a dagger! This is your holder. Rest there and let me die.

That sounds excellent. If you'd like to add that master site,
that'd be great. I'll do the p5-Geo-Shapefile port.

State Changed
From-To: open->closed

Maintainer provided working download locatino, so I haven't marked
this port as DEPRECATED.
