Q3Base is a fork of Quake III Arena. Its advantage is that it has a lot of bugfixes, including support for FreeBSD out of the box. It also uses GNU Autoconf/Automake and works with BSD Make, thus removing the dependency on Perl and GNU Make. It's also more compact than Quake III Arena - 1.4 MB .tar.bz2 vs 5.5 MB .zip. Fix: The port can be downloaded at: http://g-rave.nl/files/ports/games-q3base.tar.gz How-To-Repeat: n/a
State Changed From-To: open->feedback Two questions: - Can the port be renamed to quake3-something to match the current Q3 ports? - Can the port be modified to work with games/quake3-data?

Does that sound okay? > - Can the port be modified to work with games/quake3-data? Yes. As a matter of fact: it already does. Q3Base uses ${PREFIX}/share/quake3 to store its pak files to remain compatible with other more common setups. The only problem is: it installs the shared objects. I saw 'games/quake3's shared objects were removed yesterday. Is this a problem for the Q3Base port? Groetjes, -- Ed Schouten <ed@fxq.nl> WWW: http://g-rave.nl/
