Chaco is graph partitioner developed by Sandia and available under the LGPL. It is useful for making decomposition of Finite Elements prior to a parallel computation. In the future some CAD/FEA tools could make use of this package.

For the time being the only port that currently supports it is MBDyn (support is still experimental though) and a specific patch it was added to the Chaco port for this purpose.

Initially one must fill a form to get this software here:

however, since this is under the LGPL I would appreciate a committer mirroring the tarball on a local site.
