The matapackage gnome can be installed but gnome does not start properly with various issues Some package are named not like in the documentation of freebsd and on the internet. i.e. gnome3 which is referred to does not exist anymore etc... In my case I installed freebsd with xorg fine. other desktop environments work fine like xfce and mate but gnome has some issues. I followed each and every suggestion on the internet and of course on your website but nothing works Other linuxes with gnome work just fine on my hardware.
