No idea what I was on about following devel/py-pyasn1-modules, tho, a patch will be required for that too. What I meant to say, that apparently the original author of pyasn1, Ilya Etingof (etingof@) has passed away[1]. Maintainer approved - please go ahead. We've been discussing what to do with Ilya's other work on pysnmp; this is good news and I am glad his work will go on.
