>I believe that I have figured out hte issue and it is only a bit the fault of FreeBSD. >I tried to change the wpa_supplicant_flags in rc.conf, but botched it, generating an error. I do find it odd that this resulted in the supplicant starting with NO options set on the command and, as a result, it associated with an available AP that did not require login. That pointed out the problem: > ssid "MVC_GUEST " channel 165 (5825 MHz 11a) bssid 58:fb:96:18:8b:1c >My wpa_supplicant.conf file had "MVC_GUEST". As a result, it was skipped. Unfortunately, "ifconfig wlan0 list aps does not quote the SSID and tabs to he next field, making a trailing space invisible. Since this has worked for some time, either Marriott added the space company wide or wpa_supplicant used to ignore trailing spaces. It is also when I started using my new laptop anf moved from 13.0 to MAIN. > >Unless I see a reason to not do so, I will close this as "Not a bug" tomorrow.
