Description dindin 2006-10-16 09:00:37 UTC
Using mod_codeconv and fixing some troubles with cyrillic letter "ja" in proftpd.

WARNING: this pr is depends on ports/104452 (Using ftp/proftpd as mastrer port for russian/proftpd)
Comment 1 Andrej Zverev freebsd_committer freebsd_triage 2006-10-22 10:32:55 UTC
Denis, did you already ask maintainer of ftp/proftpd to include this
patch into master port ?

Maybe it is a better idea, instead of new slave port.

What do you think about it ?

WBR,
Andrej Zverev

Sorry for long timeout, Andrej.

Unfortunately, one of these patches broke RFC0726
(http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc0726.txt)
, where some cyrilic symbols used as control characters when ftp
daemon pipes commands through telnet.

I think it's not good idea to use it in main ftp/proftpd port.

By the way, ports/104452 already committed.

Best regards, Denis Barov.

Hello!

I agree that merging this with original port is a bad idea. And as
russian I want to see cyrillic support with proftpd. Hope the port will
be committed soon.

ëÁË ÒÕÓÓËÉÊ, Ñ ÔÏÖÅ ÍÎÏÇÏ ÞÅÇÏ ÈÏÞÕ :)

But, better to move this patch to upstream, directly into proftpd tree,
this is right position or as EXTRA patch for master port.

It's my opinon, if you want, we can talk about it via email.

WBR,
Andrej Zverev
