Description Hufschmitt 2007-03-15 14:20:20 UTC
I would like to access packages of old-releases of FreeBSD.
ftp://ftp-archive.freebsd.org requires authentification.
How to access old-releases ?

Fix:

1 login/password access to ftp-archive
or
2 url to open european ftp-archive mirror
or
3 trying to do a Instition local mirror (1 or 2 required)
How-To-Repeat: $sudo pkg_add -r trafshow
Error: FTP Unable to get ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/ports/i386/packages-6.0-release/Latest/trafshow.tbz: File unavailable (e.g., file not found, no access)
pkg_add: unable to fetch 'ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/ports/i386/packages-6.0-release/Latest/trafshow.tbz' by URL

State Changed
From-To: open->closed

None of the ftp servers have package archives that go back as far as 6.0R
anymore, due to space constraints; only a few have 6.1R at this point. Your
best choice is to upgrade to 6.2.
