I have an HP Pavillion dv9000 (dv9420us). I have a similar experience, but I've also found a work-around. If, when the the BIOS Splash screen is just about to disappear, one starts pressing <spacebar>, then the boot slice prompt comes up. Press <enter> and the laptop boots normally. It's a big hassle, but it works. jmc State Changed From-To: open->feedback Is this still a problem on modern FreeBSD versions?
