Bug 119200

Summary: [acpi] Lid close switch suspends CPU for 1 second on HP nx6125
Product: Base System Reporter: Peter Jeremy <PeterJeremy>
Component: kernAssignee: freebsd-acpi (Nobody) <acpi>
Status: Closed FIXED
Severity: Affects Only Me
Priority: Normal
Version: 6.3-PRERELEASE
Hardware: Any
OS: Any

Description Peter Jeremy 2007-12-31 20:40:00 UTC
When you close the lid on a HP nx6125 in VTY mode, the whole system
pauses for almost exactly one second. There is also a short pause
when you open the lid. This does not occur when running in X11
mode with X.org 7.3 but occasionally occurs when switching between
	VTY and X11 modes.

	Relevant sysctl:
hw.acpi.supported_sleep_state: S3 S4 S5
hw.acpi.power_button_state: NONE
hw.acpi.sleep_button_state: S3
hw.acpi.lid_switch_state: NONE

Fix:

unknown
How-To-Repeat: Run "dd if=/dev/ad0 of=/dev/null" or similar to make HDD light go
on and then close the lid. The HDD light will go out for 1 second
	before continuing.

Allow some time for NTP to poll. "ntpq -p" will show a 1 second offset

Unfortunately, my nx6125 is currently pining for the fjords so I am
unable to determine whether or not the problem is still true. I am
discussing the issue with a friend who also has a nx6125 and it's
possible that bde@ [added to cc list] has some input based on his
nx6325.
