Could you please provide a log of how this is failing? I currently
think the audio/libcddb and sysutils/libcdio were added in error in
the first place.

Hmm, I don't understand what you mean.
Like the simple diff shows cdrtools is looking for libcdio.so.7 but the 
updated 0.78.2 installs libcdio.so.8.
cdrtools says:
===>   cdrtools-2.01_6 depends on shared library: cdio.7 - not found
===>    Verifying install for cdio.7 in /usr/ports/sysutils/libcdio
But that's already installed.
