Description Markus Fröhlich 2008-07-13 12:50:01 UTC
FreeBSD/amd64 Project -- motherboards Page
Sun Fire X2100 M2 Server

To get a connection to the Remote Management (eLOM) interface after the bge(4) driver has been loaded, "hw.bge.allow_asf=1" has to be added in loader.conf or at the bootpromt (for a new installation via eLOM).

Maybe this option is also necessary for the X2200 M2 because these 2 models difffer only in the number of CPUs.

Without this setting the last lines that can be seen in the remote console are:

pcib5: <ACPI PCI-PCI bridge> at device 13.0 on pci0
pci5: <ACPI PCI bus> on pcib5
pcib6: <ACPI PCI-PCI bridge> at device 0.0 on pci5
pci6: <ACPI PCI bus> on pcib6

and then ther's no connection to the eLOM service Processor
