Description Marvin Malkowski Jr. 2008-07-25 04:00:13 UTC
I am having problem with AMD64 Freebsd release and getting consoles to work properly. Console works fine during the initial boot process but when it comes to the login prompt I am unable to to enter text or get any response back to the console. When i install the i386 version on these systems, the console works with no problems at all with the same configuration.

Configuration:

cat /boot/loader.conf
console="comconsole"
accf_http_load="YES"

cat /etc/ttys | grep vt100
ttyd0	"/usr/libexec/getty std.9600"	vt100	on secure

To submitter: how much of the boot process do you see on the serial
console? Do you get the kernel messages? The userland boot messages?
Can you provide a dmesg of the system please?

Feedback timeout (> 4 months). fwiw, I am currently able to use serial
console on several machines in the package building cluster.
