Bug 12743

Summary: Cannot boot the 3.2 floppies
Product: Base System Reporter: dragona <dragona>
Component: miscAssignee: freebsd-bugs (Nobody) <bugs>
Status: Closed FIXED
Severity: Affects Only Me
Priority: Normal
Version: Unspecified
Hardware: Any
OS: Any

Description dragona 1999-07-21 19:40:00 UTC
I cannot boot the system from the 3.2 floppies. The error message says that the floppie disk
cannot be found, even though that is where the loader runs from. The system is all
SCSI, using an Adaptec 2840 VLB SCSI adapter, two SCSI harddisks, two
SCSI CD-ROM drives, 1 SCSI DAT drive.

Above I listed all the hardware detected when the system boots the 2.2.6 kernel.

How-To-Repeat: Create a set of boot floppies, and try to boot the system.

Try the 3.4 disks and re-open a PR if it is still a problem.

Does this problem still exist with newer FreeBSD versions (e. g. 4.2-BETA)?
