>I put in the first floppy,reboot & get this
>/boot.config: -P
>Keyboard: no
>_ <=== this blinks forever.
As soon as you see
Keyboard: no
Hit the space key, and you get the "boot:" prompt. Type "-Dh" and
return. Then, you will be all right.
For the record, would you describe your system for us?
Motherboard, CPU, keyboard, etc.

State Changed From-To: open->feedback Could you let us know whether Mr Yokota's suggestion works, because I've bene suggesting to people that they download a copy of the boot disk that doesn't use the -P boot option and his suggestion will save people a lot of time if it works for you. :-) Responsible Changed From-To: freebsd-bugs->sheldonh I'm interested in the feedback. :-) >> >>Number: 12811 >> >>Category: misc >> >>Synopsis: Cant get it going [...] >> >>Description: >> >I put in the first floppy,reboot & get this >> >/boot.config: -P >> >Keyboard: no >> >_ <=== this blinks forever. >> >> As soon as you see >> >> Keyboard: no >> >> Hit the space key, and you get the "boot:" prompt. Umm, there should be three seconds delay before the boot block finally decides to use the serial console.... (When you see "_", it is supposed to be waiting for three seconds before loading the boot loader.) Anyway, hold down the space key BEFORE the "keyboard: no" message and keep it down until you see the boot block prompt. Kazu Responsible Changed From-To: sheldonh->yokota Kazu has a better approach on this one than my brute force method. State Changed From-To: feedback->closed Originator says he's gotten things working, although the way he did so didn't make much sense. :-) |
