Description FreeBSD -- The Power to Serve 1999-08-22 17:50:01 UTC
The main problem is when you play mp3s with any program except
for xmms which hasn't done it yet, the box will freeze playing back the last few
seconds of sound over and over again requiring a reboot. I have seen this happen
in amp(from ports) and mpg123(from ports).. mpg123 is more common.. among other
problems, mpg123s quality of playback degrades the longer it runs, as well
as xmms, it starts getting staticcy etc. amp does not do this.

Fix:

Wish I knew.
How-To-Repeat: play mp3s from the console using sscape0 (usually have to do
it multiple times for it to occur)

Hi Jason,

Amancio Hasty may be able to help you on this one. I've copied him
on this mail. He will probably want to see your kernel boot messages
(dmesg) and kernel config file.

Ciao,
Sheldon.

Nobody else that I know about. Make sure you get a copy of your kernel
config file and your dmesg output to Amancio.

Ciao,
Sheldon.

Did you ever get your dmesg and kernel config to Amancio? Any news?
