Description Mark Stosberg 2009-05-01 23:20:00 UTC
There is a bug when upgrading MySQL from 5.0.55 to MySQL 5.0.77 on FreeBSD, such that InnoDB no longer works. The error when starting is:

InnoDB: Unable to lock ./ibdata1, error: 22

Several others have experienced this issue and reported it to the MySQL project here:

http://bugs.mysql.com/bug.php?id=40621

But so far, the upstream project has not taken interest in a resolution.

Fix:

Manually downgrading works around the issue.
How-To-Repeat: Upgrade the mysql50 port the usual way on FreeBSD 6.2

Ping... but mostly will need to close this. Freebsd 6.2 isn't supported
anymore. if this doesn't work in Freebsd 6.4, you should resubmit.
