Responsible Changed From-To: freebsd-bugs->freebsd-i386 reclassify. I have the same machine and I ran 9-STABLE (amd64) on it. And since a month I run 10-STABLE (amd64) on it. It only panics on boot if you press a key before the kernel is loaded. Like what is mentioned here: http://lists.freebsd.org/pipermail/freebsd-current/2009-October/012602.html This still happens, but does not bother me. (And sounds like another issue anyways.) Dell Inspiron 530 panics at boot with the 8.1 kernel. The error message repeats to fast to read. I think it is "supervisor read data, page not present". Booting without ACPI did not change anything. After 20 tries I gave up and booted with kernel.old, which is at 8.0-p2. Here is a dmesg: Copyright (c) 1992-2009 The FreeBSD Project.
