Responsible Changed From-To: freebsd-www->jkois Take. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hello, First thanks for sending in this PR. The problem is there is nothing we can do about that right away. 1. The FreeBSD Foundation is NOT directly related to the FreeBSD Project. But these JAVA packages are provided by the Foundation. NOT by the Project. So this request would need to be sent to the FreeBSD Foundation directly. 2. The JAVA packages offered by the Foundation are certified packages under a special license agreement with Sun (which is now Oracle). So it is NOT possible to "just" compile 8.X packages (the license does NOT allow that). Good thing is the 7.X packages can also be installed under 8.X. Additionally it is possible to install JAVA from source (The license used by Sun prevents us from providing binary packages for JAVA). See http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en/books/handbook/desktop-browsers.html for more information. Conclusion: I will close this PR. As there is nothing to do. jkois - -- Johann Kois jkois(at)FreeBSD.org FreeBSD Documentation Project FreeBSD German Documentation Project - https://doc.bsdgroup.de -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.15 (FreeBSD) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org/ iEYEARECAAYFAkztj8sACgkQ/rDr791hwtgX4wCePcqQv89cmqfeM7a3tnohGi/g 9JoAn3QXBn4uZVNIr9NJ9kfJo7eLR/dQ =V/Y2 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- State Changed From-To: open->closed As explained in my comment: Close this PR (nothing to do). |
