Description mike figley 2011-01-10 01:20:08 UTC
I've attempted booting from CD the last several dev releases -
the bootloader sprite spins a few times then hangs!

The hardware:

Tyan SG2912G2NR
8GB RAM
(2) Dual Core Opterons 2214HE
(8) 1TB WD Drives
lastest BIOS v 4.00

The CDs Boot fine on another amd64 system with one dual-core CPU:
ASUS 8-VX, 1GB RAM

anybody else see this?

Cheers!
mike

I've tried various APCI, APIC & other BIOS combinations - no luck yet.

I'm specifically working with FreeBSD-8.2-BETA1-amd64-bootonly.iso now.

Any suggestions on BIOS work-arounds?

Cheers!
mike

Unfortunately this PR was never addressed before these versions of FreeBSD went out of support. Sorry.

If this is still a problem, please open a new PR. Thanks.
