Bug 158788

Summary: Outdated "BSD Myths"
Product: Documentation Reporter: JaMeSiTeGeN <jamesm.sitegen>
Component: Books & ArticlesAssignee: Johann Kois <jkois>
Status: Closed FIXED
Severity: Affects Only Me
Priority: Normal
Version: Latest
Hardware: Any
OS: Any

Description JaMeSiTeGeN 2011-07-11 04:30:10 UTC
If you goto http://people.freebsd.org/~nik/advocacy/myths.html#old-codebase you would notice the following..

Architecture ports: Ports of *BSD are under way or already exist on many other architectures, including SPARC, Alpha, and PPC. NetBSD and OpenBSD both have more architecture ports than FreeBSD, which is, at the time of writing, running on i386, Alpha and SPARC.

I'm sure FBSD supports more than that now :P

Fix:

Update the small list..
How-To-Repeat: Goto http://people.freebsd.org/~nik/advocacy/myths.html#old-codebase

Hello,

Thank you for your submission. Please note that the page you are
referring to is NOT part of the official FreeBSD website and/or
documentation. All sites under http://people.freebsd.org/ are PRIVATE
pages of FreeBSD developers and it is up to them what they store/publish
there. So unless the developer fixes the page, there is nothing we can
do. If the developers is not active anymore the site can still be
there. But as already mentioned there is nothing we could do except
delete the whole user profile. But we normally do not do that.

Regarding your question. The real (and supported/up-to-date) page can
be found on the official FreeBSD website:

http://www.freebsd.org/advocacy/

Conclusion: I will close this PR as the mentioned page is not part of
the official FreeBSD documentation.

Regards.

jkois
