The SEE ALSO section of manpage wi(4) contains this broken link:

   HCF Light programming specification http://www.wavelan.com

Fix: The supplied patch changes the URL into http://bwrc.eecs.berkeley.edu/People/Grad_Students/jbeutel/wavelan_s0005-11-light.htm
which contains the said specification.

Hi,

The URL is too long, and it fails mdoc(7) tests with formatting the
manual.  Looking at DragonFlyBSD's wi(4) manual, they reference the
original page through webarchive.org, which I think is a more ideal
solution here.

Yes and no... The webarchive.org link is indeed more elegant, although =
it's not clear from http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.wavelan.com. =
where that HCF spec can be found: it presents  a generic timeline =
instead of the 'HCF Light programming specification'. I tried to find =
the document in the captures, but couldn't find it. And even if I'd find =
it, a more specific webarchive.org URL could easily be as long (or =
longer) than that berkeley URL.=20

If the document is still relevant enough, another solution would be to =
mirror it somewhere where it can be reached with a stable and short URL.

BTW, the fact that lengths of URLs can't be longer than a certain limit =
in manpages irks me a bit, due to SEO-friendly URLs we'll probably see =
more longer URLs in the future.  OTOH, most references in manpages are =
to institutional sites instead of blog posts, and the latter show the =
tendency to become longer. No need to panic yet ;-)

Maybe the copyright concerns could be mitigated by making a redirect =
page? Something like "The document you are looking for can be found on =
http://xyz. You will be redirected there in 5 seconds."

What do you think of that? Or are we spending precious time on a =
non-issue?  Is this document still relevant to FreeBSD? Anyone =
interested could still google for it, if they really want it.
