Description bartsch 2011-10-28 07:50:06 UTC
enigmail-thunderbird is not GnuPG V2 compatible. After Installation it is not able to locate a valid gnupg installation. If directed manually to "gpg2", the call fails with invalid parameter "--charset".
Changing the dependency to security/gnupg1 fixes this problem.

Fix: Makefile may be patched:
How-To-Repeat: eventually remove package gnupg-1xx and try to configure/run run enigmail-thunderbird

enigmail works perfectly with gpg2, please read the manual for configuring it.

Maybe I didn't explain my problem accurately enough:

1. the program "gpg" is installed by security/gnupg1
If enigmail uses gpg2, IMHO the changed line in
/usr/ports/mail/enigmail/Makefile should then read:
...
        gpg2:${PORTSDIR}/security/gnupg
...

2. "gpg2" is not accepted by the installed thunderbird-enigmail plugin
as a valid gnupg installation. Shown plugin version: "Enigmail 1.4a1pre".
Thunderbird version: 7.0.1

What am I missing?
