If signal 11's tend to happen at pseudo-random times during the installation process there are strong odds you have a piece of ailing hardware. All the signal 11 problems I've ever had have stemmed from bad RAM. Although I've heard that other hardware failures will also cause them (such as a bad motherboard). I hope this helps you resolve your probelm. -- William Carrel p.s. apologies for posting twice to freebsd-bugs, this is your punishment for not merging my patch in yet. ;) > >Description: > When I try to install over ftp, I use the 2 boot disks and then I allcate > the entire disk for freebsd, then I have FreeBsd auto layout the > partition. See http://www.freebsd.org/releases/3.4R/errata.html for a description of this problem, and two workarounds. Kevin State Changed From-To: open->closed This is a known problem. See the ERRATA.TXT for details. Thanks. |
