samba can't allocate buffers requested in socket options (SO_SNDBUF SO_RCVBUF) resulting in low transfer rates. Error is "lib/util_sock.c:set_socket_options(151) Failed to set socket option SO_SNDBUF (Error no buffer space available) Fix: Compiled kernel from 3.4-STABLE; problem vanished. I don't have any idea what changes are required to 3.4-RELEASE, nor do I know if running the 3.4-STABLE kernel on a 3.4-RELEASE system is a Good Idea. How-To-Repeat: Connect from NT4 workstation/server to samba share
