Description Samuel V Green III 2012-05-10 02:00:09 UTC
Twice with my MacBook Pro I've burnt the FreeBSD-9.0-RELEASE-powerpc-release image to disk. Each time the burn finishes ; it freezes up my MacBook pro. When I then eject the new disk and attempt to insert it into my powerbook it comes up with a screen of all sorts of error messages and freezes up my power book. I'm a low budget guy so spending $35 on a dvd isn't in my budget right now. My PowerBook Just has a read drive in it right now so I'm guessing burning the image with my MacBook Pro "Intel" 64 bit computer is the problem ?

Is there a better way to attempt to get an install of FreeBSD installed on my PowerBook ? Am I using the wrong release ?

Thanks for any help !

Samuel

This is a known issue that was fixed in -CURRENT and 9-STABLE. The
workaround for it when burning 9-RELEASE is to select the 'eject after
burning' instead of 'mount after burning'.
