Summary: 4.0-STABLE: mount of non-fixated CD-R -> panic
Product: Base System Reporter: larse <larse>
Component: kernAssignee: Søren Schmidt <sos>
Status: Closed FIXED
Severity: Affects Only Me
Priority: Normal
Version: 4.0-STABLE
Hardware: Any
OS: Any

Description larse 2000-03-17 19:20:00 UTC
I recorded a CD-R without fixating it, than tried to mount it by accident,
and the machine paniced. I still have the disk, let me know if I should
gather more information (what and how?)

How-To-Repeat: burncd -t -s8 data somefiles*
mount /cdrom

The lack of information provided makes it difficult to figure out who
should look at this. Could show us your dmesg output and tell us which
device you used to mount the CD-R?

Ciao,
Sheldon.

Sheldon, here's what I see:

hbo# mount /dev/acd0c /cdrom
acd0: READ_TOC - ILLEGAL REQUEST asc=24 ascq=00 error=04
panic: vm_fault: fault on nofault entry, addr: c685800
Debugger("panic")
Stopped at	Debugger+0x36:	mov $0,in_Debugger.322

Please let me know if you need any other information.

Lars
