Description seh 2000-03-19 22:00:01 UTC
When FreeBSD is used as a firewall and server with a DSL router or cable modem
with a private subnet between the FreeBSD box and the Internet router, outgoing
connections are given a non-routable address instead of a routable address from
the interface serving a leaf subnet. These changes allow a system to bind a
"pseudonym" address to the interface to the Internet router, allowing outgoing
connections to use a routable address. For a more detailed explaination, please
uudecode, gunzip and untar the included text, and read the web page "router.html".

Testing has been relatively limited, but the changes are very small.

Fix: The changes are included as a uuencoded, gzipped tar file. When unbundled,
a set of files appear in the directory ./pn. All changes, as well as a web
page describing the changes and how to apply them are available. The text
of the .uue file is as follows:

Are the proposed changes still considered useful? Is this not
something that natd could do better?
