Bug 175521

Summary: Documentation does not install
Product: Base System Reporter: Lucian Solaris <luciansolaris>
Component: miscAssignee: Mark Linimon <linimon>
Status: Closed Overcome By Events
Severity: Affects Only Me
Priority: Normal
Version: 9.1-RELEASE
Hardware: Any
OS: Any

Description Lucian Solaris 2013-01-22 23:00:01 UTC
I input:

pkg_add -r en-freebsd-doc

and I get:

Error: Unable to get 'ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/ports/amd64/packages-9.1-release/Latest/en-freebsd-doc.tbz' by URL

This is literally the first command I type in (this also failed in setup). This was addressed in the freebsd-stable mailing list for sysutils/bsdconfig with a simple "File a PR with bsdinstall since it's not our issue."

This can be solved by making that directory tree on the webserver and putting the file there, and fixing the pull location in the next release.

Fix:

Make the incorrect directory tree on ftp.freebsd.org so this error will not show.
How-To-Repeat: Input on a vanilla 9.1-RELEASE amd64 install:

pkg_add -r en-freebsd-doc
