The page in question: http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en/articles/solid-state/kernel.html

Reference: http://lists.freebsd.org/pipermail/freebsd-stable/2005-May/015115.html

According to a post in the reference above, pseudo-device (used with "pseudo-device md") is no longer used. Furthermore, in the generic kernel configuration, "device md" already exists.

Fix:

Ensure that the entry "device md" already exists in the generic kernel and, if so, make a note of that on the page? Probably further investigate what should be done for SSDs with 9.1-RELEASE.
