Bug 18738

Summary: /usr/bin/doscmd reports a 286 while booting
Product: Base System Reporter: giffunip <giffunip>
Component: binAssignee: Thomas Gellekum <tg>
Status: Closed FIXED
Severity: Affects Only Me
Priority: Normal
Version: Unspecified
Hardware: Any
OS: Any

Description giffunip 2000-05-22 05:40:01 UTC
Minix 386 is known to work on protected mode on several
emulators, and doscmd shouldn't restrict the instruction set.

Running doscmd -bx to boot Minix 386 fails with a message
"Cannot load a 386 kernel on this 286"

FWIW, msd.exe /I reports other (probably unrelated) problems.

How-To-Repeat: Result of using -v option:

Responsible Changed
From-To: freebsd-bugs->tg

tg's been doing some work with doscmd. He can decide whether
this is feasible.

State Changed
From-To: open->closed

doscmd is no longer part of the FreeBSD base system.

Perhaps a category change to 'ports' would've been pertinent.
