Thanks a lot. One major concern is the complexity of the extension and maintaining it within an update and upgrade process. Ideally, upstream bugzilla would receive the abilities to let users edit descriptions and comments in a transparent manner out of the box. Right now there are several things with a higher priority to be done within our bugzilla environment, so this enhancement will be investigated more deeply at a later time. Although inability to edit/delete comments is inconvenient at some times, the amount of effort required to fix it outweighs the gains. I'm afraid bugmeister@ team doesn't have enough resources to maintain custom modification of this scale. *** Bug 239634 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** If someone with perl chops would like to give writing a "timed comment edit" extension a go, please reach out to us on #freebsd-bugs freenode to discuss the spec. Once we have a minimal spec sorted out we will document it here for tracking purposes Months are going by. Mozilla uses Bugzilla and it is totally annoying that our posts cannot be edited or even just deleted. Please add deleting of self-owned posts right away. That should be easy to do. Thank you! Agree, at least delete should be there, edit doesn't matter. What if someone by accident dumps a password into a comment? Or some other private info? MARKED AS SPAM MARKED AS SPAM +1 for editing. I often copy-paste wrong commit hash, and the impact is worsened when mass-editing bugs. Besides bug-mail noise this also creates a confusion because FreeBSD bugzilla instance doesn't support comment tagging in order to auto-hide "obsolete" comments. MARKED AS SPAM (In reply to Gunther Schadow from comment #7) > … What if someone by accident dumps a password into a comment? > Or some other private info? For readers who may be unaware: I do know that bugmeister can delete the content of an attachment. I assume that the same can be done (by bugmeister) with the content of a comment. |
